Downtown Clarkesville · Georgia

Southern cooking in a room with a past.

Once Church’s Service Station in the 1930s and 40s, now Clarkesville’s table for breakfast, flame-grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and slow evenings under the old brick.

Heaven. That’s the only word that can describe the food here. I have never in my life had better ribs. Every single dish was delicious.

Best Salmon Benedict I’ve eaten, and the crème brûlée paired perfectly with an excellent cup of coffee. 10 out of 10 would come again.

Lobster bisque surprisingly excellent, better than many fancy big city seafood restaurants. Hosts were friendly, service very timely.

Honest food, gathered around

We bring people and good food together under a roof that used to fuel the town.

The Attic sits on the corner in the heart of downtown Clarkesville, in a building that has been part of this town for the better part of a century. We kept what makes it special, the brick, the beams, the photographs from the thirties and forties, and we fill it with the smell of breakfast in the morning and steaks on the grill at night.

Come as you are. Stay a while. That is the whole idea.

Our Story

A historic service station, set for supper.

This corner was once Church’s Service Station, where folks pulled in for gas and a friendly word back in the 1930s and 40s. The front entrance is still the original garage door, and the walls carry photographs from those early years, our way of paying homage to the foundation we built on.

Today the pumps are long gone, but the spirit stayed. We turned the old station into a warm, candlelit room where neighbors and travelers alike pull up to the table for a real Southern meal.
